The two core influences for the costume design of CROWNS are the colour scheme, white representing the living, mortal realm and black representing death and the supernatural. The costume department has drawn significant influence from these elements as overall factors when creating their costume design.

Having the actors bodies painted white, as well as dressed in plain whites enables all the characters to be equal. Whilst all individual outfits are unique to the characters to distinguish themselves; it forces the audience to look past the often grand and colourful outfits common in Shakespeare works, and to emphasize with each specific character whilst they express different levels of power from their actions and expressions executed on stage.
